Madhu Limaye Library, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow is pleased to organize the National Seminar on “Development of Digital Libraries in IPR Regime”

Date: 8th – 9th June, 2013
Venue: Seminar Hall, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow

The Law Libraries in the 21st century are confronted with issues involving constantly increasing information overload, changing patterns of resource management, new and growing technologies, specialized needs and expectations of users which are threatening the very existence of the usual functioning of law libraries around the world and have pushed them to the crossroads.

The seminar provides a platform and enables interaction among digital library experts, law students and teachers, researchers, academicians and students for adoption, implementation and utilization of digital libraries and their future implications towards shaping information paradigm. Collection development in the electronic environment offers help and advice on the most complex and difficult issues.

The scope of the seminar will attempt to explore free access to law movement, digital resource management, building library – faculty relationship, importance of copyright and IT act in access of digital resources. The seminar shall also help the legal fraternity to develop skills in access of the legal electronic databases. This seminar will help in developing quality and standard library collection and services for legal education.

Methodology:
It is proposed that the 2-days seminar will be divided into 6 (six) interactive sessions/focused group discussions. Each session shall be Chaired and Moderated by a Chair & Co-Chair, who shall also present the Theme Paper for that session. Well researched papers received from the participants and scrutinized/accepted by experts shall be allowed for presentation during a particular session.
