This year more than 10,000 students appeared for Common Law Admission Test 2018 (CLAT 2018) for Post Graduate Course at various test centers across India. This year CLAT was organised by The National University of Advanced Legal Studies Kochi, Kerala, India
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), is an all India common entrance examination, conducted on rotational basis by 19 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their UG and PG degree programmes.
The exam covered the subjects quite vividly. Constitution part entailed questions related to recent judicial decisions, the ratio decidendi behind the judgments. It also covered portions related to basic fundamentals concerning amendments, their improvements and additions made by them in the Constitution.
The jurisprudence part was as usual theoretical whereby the jurists’ quotes and theories were questioned. It was fairly easy than Constitution. The third part had questions from various field of law, namely, Contract, Transfer of Property, Family law, International Law, Criminal Law etc. The questions again pertained to recent judgements and intrinsic knowledge regarding the law.
Overall the difficulty level was medium-high as it demanded the candidate to be well versed in recent happenings as well as in fundamentals of law.
