Call for Blogs — Centre for Law and Urban Development (CLUD), NLU Delhi (2025)

The Centre for Law and Urban Development (CLUD) at National Law University, Delhi is inviting original blog submissions that explore pressing issues where law, policy, and urban development intersect. This is a fantastic opportunity for students, academics, legal professionals, and policy thinkers to showcase insightful analysis and contribute to an ongoing public discussion on urban legal challenges.

🧠 Themes to Explore

Contributors are encouraged to write on topics that critically engage with urban development and the law. Suggested themes include:

  • Real Estate & Housing Policy – Legal frameworks shaping affordable housing and urban inclusion.

  • Urban Taxation & City Finance – Analysis of property tax systems, infrastructure levies, and equitable urban growth incentives.

  • Healthcare & Urban Regulation – Policy frameworks regulating health infrastructure and access in cities.

  • Project Financing & Insolvency – How insolvency law, banking rules, and finance models affect urban infrastructure and real estate projects.

  • Smart Cities & Digital Infrastructure – Legal governance of technology, data rights, and connectivity in smart urban spaces.

  • Green & Sustainable Cities – Regulations and incentives for climate-resilient planning, green building policies, and environmental protection.

  • PPP and Collaborative Models – Reimagining public–private partnership frameworks for resilient infrastructure.

  • Utilities & Urban Services – Regulation of electricity, water, waste management, and accountability in city services.

These topics are indicative. You’re welcome to pitch ideas beyond this list as long as your blog critically engages with legal or policy issues in the urban context.


✍️ Submission Requirements

Here’s how to prepare your blog for submission:

Word Limit:
800–1500 words (exceptions can be requested).

Abstract:
A separate abstract of up to 50 words summarizing the blog’s theme and key argument.

Author Info:
Include a brief bio (about 100 words), a high-resolution photo, and a LinkedIn profile link (if available).

Co-authorship:
Allowed for up to two authors per piece.

Formatting Rules:

  • Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Line spacing 1.5

  • One-inch margins

  • Heading styles as specified (title bold & underlined; subtitle guidelines)

  • Include relevant case law, data, or visuals like charts where useful.

File Details:

  • Submit in .doc/.docx format

  • File name: Title_CLUD Blog

  • Do not include author identity in file metadata.

This is a rolling call for submissions, so there’s no fixed deadline. Contributions are reviewed continuously, and authors are typically informed of acceptance within two weeks after submission.
