In a significant development during the Annual Governing Body Meeting of the Consortium of National Law Universities, held on Saturday, 17th February 2024, at Silvassa, Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Ukey has been elected as the Convener for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025. Prof. Ukey is the Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai.
The meeting, presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, witnessed the transition of leadership within the Consortium, with Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan assuming the role of President, succeeding the outgoing President, Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar. Prof. (Dr.) S. Shantha Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar has been elected as the Vice-President.
Prof. (Dr.) Ukey, who currently serves as the Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai, brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in legal education. His election as the Convenor for CLAT 2025 underscores the confidence of the Governing Body in his leadership abilities and vision for the prestigious examination.
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralized test for admission to twenty-five National Law Universities in India. It is conducted on a rotational basis by these universities, and the responsibility of organizing CLAT 2025 now rests with Prof. (Dr.) Ukey.
