About the Organiser
Saveetha School of Law (SSL), established in 2009, is committed to providing quality legal education through academic excellence, innovation and professional ethics. The institution provides practical exposure through moot courts, mock trials, client counselling, seminars, workshops and community outreach programmes, with an emphasis on analytical, research and advocacy skills.
About the Event
The Nation Wants to Know is a Press Stimulation Competition conducted under Law Fest 2026 and forms a subset of INK n’ INDEX. The event focuses on political awareness, governance, journalism, contemporary issues, critical thinking, informed analysis and effective communication.
The competition presents participants with hypothetical political emergencies. Teams assume the role of competent and responsible spokespersons of the ruling government and address a simulated press conference, responding to questions and concerns raised by press representatives.
Eligibility
- Students pursuing any Higher Education Course from a recognised college/university in India.
- Teams must consist of two members from the same institution.
- The event is particularly suitable for students pursuing Law, Political Science, Journalism and related studies.
Competition Format
- The Organising Committee will provide a list of 20 hypothetical political emergencies.
- Each team will be allotted an emergency through a draw of lots; priority will follow the order of registration.
- Each team will act as spokespersons of the ruling government and address a simulated press conference.
- Team members must respond to questions and provide explanations, solutions and governmental perspectives.
- Each member must assume a specific political or administrative role, such as Chief Minister, Minister, Secretary or another relevant government official.
- Participation of all team members is mandatory.
Registration Procedure
- Complete the registration through the official Google Form (attached at the end of the post), including payment.
- Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
- A maximum of 30 teams can register and participate, subject to the Organising Committee’s discretion to increase the number.
- Registration is complete only after successful payment and submission of the final registration form.
- The registration fee is non-refundable.
Fee
Registration Fee: ₹303 per team of two. The fee is non-refundable and includes refreshments and certificates for participants.
