ABOUT: The Judicial Training & Research Institute, U.P. saw the light in 1986, although it became functional on April 25,1987. Hon’ble Mr. Justice K.N. Goyal (Retd.) was it’s first director (Honorary). The institute was established with the main aim to provide induction training and in-service training to the Judicial Officers of U.P., so as to make the subordinate judiciary more skilled, sensitive and responsible.

INVITATION FOR RESEARCH PROPOSALS: The Judicial Training & Research Institute, U.P invites application for research projects (as per the enclosed format) from the Universities, Institutes, NGOs, Individuals. Necessary financial support/Assistance will be extended for conducting such research. The broad proposed area of research would be :

  1. Strengthening of ADR Mechanism in Subordinate courts of U.P.
  2. Improving Access to Justice to marginalized in Subordinate courts of Uttar Pradesh.
  3. Strengthening of Justice Delivery System with special reference to role of Stake holders.
  4. Provisions pertaining to Juveniles: Issues & Challenges.
  5. Domestic Violence Provisions: Roles of Stake Holders & issues/challenges.

PLACE: Lucknow

DURATION: One year

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 

  • The applicant/Institution/NGO, must be having past experience of conducting in legal & Empirical research in similar field.
  • The applicant/Institution/NGO, must have sufficient resources/team/networks and tools to conduct such researches.
  • Preferences will be given to the Individuals/Institutions having the research team with the Background of law or past experience as Judicial Officer/ Prosecutor.

THE EVALUATION CRITERIA: The research proposal will be examined by the Research committee, Judicial Training & Research Institute, U.P, Lucknow and shortlisted candidates/representatives will be called for interview

HOW TO APPLY: The proposal should contain Synopsis of the project explicitly specifying the objective, scope and issues that would be addressed and research methodology etc., complete bio-data including experience and credentials in the relevant field of interest, , the estimated expenditure/Budget.(Refer to the Format of research project.)
