Themes for Submission
Participants are invited to write on one of the following themes:
- Critique of Educational Policies:
- Examining the gap between how education policies are designed and how they actually play out on the ground.
- Flagship reforms like the RTE Act and NEP 202: intent versus real-world implementation.
- Accountability, funding, and monitoring gaps within the education system.
- Education, Caste, Class, and Gender:
- How caste and class shape access to quality schooling and higher education.
- Gender gaps in enrollment, retention, and safety within educational spaces.
- The urban-rural divide in infrastructure, teachers, and learning outcomes.
- The Fallout of Paper Leaks:
- The toll of paper leaks on students’ mental health, time, and trust in the system.
- Systemic vulnerabilities that make exams susceptible to leaks and malpractice.
- Reimagining examination security and integrity for a fairer process.
- The Education to Employment Pipeline:
- The mismatch between what the curriculum teaches and what the job market actually needs.

- Making room for financial literacy, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence in the curriculum.

- Personalised and adaptive learning as alternatives to one-size-fits-all teaching.
- Rethinking assessment beyond standardised, high-stakes testing.
- Reforms the System Needs:
- Investing in teacher training, capacity building, and support.
- Modernising and adding flexibility to a rigid, outdated curriculum.
- Bridging digital divides so that reform doesn’t leave anyone further behind.
- Proposing an Anti-Paper Leak Bill:
- India already has the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, enacted after the NEET-UG and UGC-NET leak scandals but how effective has it been so far?
- What further legislative or structural reforms (stricter penalties, faster fast-track trials, better exam-security technology) would you propose to close remaining gaps?
- How should a strengthened law balance deterrence for organized cheating syndicates with protecting genuine, anxious students caught up in the process?

The Word Limit is as follows:
- Analysis: 2000 words
- Opinion: 2500 words
Submission Guidelines
- Authorship: Co-authorship (up to 2 authors) is permitted
- Formatting: Times New Roman | Font Size 12 | Line Spacing 1.5 | Justified
- Referencing: All references must be in the form of hyperlinks in the body of the submission. If no hyperlink is available for any reference, we recommend using endnotes. The endnotes must conform with the 4th edition of the Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) style of citation.
- Originality: Submissions must be original and unpublished
- File Format: Submissions must be in a Word format (‘.doc’ or ‘.docx’).
