The NLIU Cell for Law and Technology (CLT) is organising the NLIU-CLT NDA Policy Case Competition as part of its flagship event, Techtonic 2026, scheduled from 16th to 18th January 2026 at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal.
This competition provides law students a platform to showcase their legal, analytical, and policy-making skills by tackling real-world, contemporary issues at the intersection of law and technology. It is an excellent opportunity for students to engage with complex policy challenges, propose innovative solutions, and interact with legal and industry experts.
Theme:
“Governing Emotional and Medical Risks of AI”
The competition focuses on the ethical, legal, and regulatory challenges posed by the growing use of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare and mental health applications. Participants will analyse potential risks and propose effective policy and legal frameworks to govern these technologies responsibly.
Eligibility:

Open to undergraduate and postgraduate law students from recognised universities across India.

Students can participate in teams of 2-3 members.
Competition Structure:

Registration: Teams must register before 25th December 2025.

Written Submission: Teams will submit a detailed policy proposal addressing the competition theme by 1st January 2026. Submissions will be evaluated based on clarity, innovation, feasibility, and legal soundness.

Oral Presentation: Selected teams will present their proposals at NLIU, Bhopal, between 16th–18th January 2026. Presentations will be judged by a panel of experts from law, technology, and policy sectors.
