Khwaja Abdul Muntaqim- a professor at Amity Institute of Advance Legal studies and former Additional Legislative Counsel to the Government of India gives his expert take on information that every prospective lawyer/law student/amateur litigator craves- the basic practice of law in India. In a brief article Professor Muntaqim elaborates on the capacity in which a lawyer can practice in India today, underlining some integral facts about working as an Advocate, Government official, Judicial officer, teacher as well as getting involved in legal outsourcing and publishing.

He then outlines the standard remuneration expected from these fields and expressly categorizes the fields themselves that exist in India, a point which must be quite confusing for eager law students still looking to specialize. Prof. Muntaqim also provides an extensive lists of institutions that impart legal education at the post graduate level.

Although the internet as well as colleges and universities do their best to enlighten us about the career that we should build for ourselves- it always helps to have some learned and experienced lawyers give us factual data accounting to the practical aspects of Law.
