The Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh, originally established in 1889, has a prestigious history producing eminent legal professionals including Supreme Court judges and senior bureaucrats.
The Department actively promotes practical training in legal research, debates, moot courts, and client counselling by organizing various competitions and seminars.

MAGLAW Law Journal is a bi-annual, peer-reviewed, refereed publication by the Department of Laws, Panjab University, established in 2017.
It publishes original scholarly articles across diverse legal subjects, ensuring quality through student and faculty editorial boards and qualified reviewers. The journal aims to foster critical legal thought, debates, and knowledge enhancement among students.
About this Issue
This issue embraces multiple contemporary legal themes including personality rights, digital identity, women-centric legislation and institutional reform, and judicial evolution over the last decade relating to technology, access, and procedural development.
It invites contributions offering diverse perspectives and insightful analysis.

- Bona-fide students pursuing three-year or five-year L.L.B., L.L.M., or Ph.D. in law.

Submission Categories
- Research Papers: 3,000 to 6,000 words
- Case Notes: 2,500 to 3,000 words
- Legal Opinion: 1,500 to 2,000 words (focused opinion on legal questions)
Submission Guidelines

- Stage One – Abstract Submission:
- Submit an abstract (max 200 words) with five keywords via the Open Journal System (OJS) by August 30, 2026, 11:50 p.m.
- Include a cover letter and undertaking as per prescribed format during abstract submission.
- Only selected abstracts will be invited to submit full manuscripts.

- Manuscripts must be anonymous (removing all personal details), submitted within 30 days of selection via OJS.
- Submit originality and AI reports (Turnitin) confirming 0% AI assistance and plagiarism not exceeding 20%.
- Manuscripts undergo peer review with possible revision requests; authors have 4 days to respond to revisions.
- Submissions must be original, unpublished, and exclusive to MAGLAW at time of submission.
- Formatting requirements: Times New Roman, font size 12 (main text), British English, 1.5 line spacing, ILI Footnoting style, left-aligned headings, justified text.
Conditions of Publication
- Strict anonymity during review process.
- No use of AI-assisted writing tools permitted; AI report required.
- Authors bear responsibility for plagiarism and copyright infringement.
- MAGLAW is an open-access journal, with no author charges or publication fees.
- Maximum two co-authors allowed; submissions with professionals as co-authors excluded.
- Originality and ethical standards are mandatory.
