About the Organisation
The Kautilya Society of Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, is a student-led policy think tank committed to exploring the intersections of law, society, and public policy.
The Society fosters informed debate, critical thinking, and impactful writing on contemporary legal and policy issues through research initiatives, surveys, and collaborations.
About the Call for Blogs
The Society invites original, well-reasoned, and insightful blog submissions for its Nitisara Blogspace. The platform serves as an emerging medium for policy discourse within and beyond the legal fraternity.
Submissions are welcome from students, researchers, and policy enthusiasts across India who wish to contribute to public engagement on legal and policy matters.
Submission Guidelines
- Word Count: Between 1000-1500 words (excluding references). Exceptional longer pieces may be considered for multi-part publication at the Editorial Team’s discretion.
- Abstract: May include an abstract not exceeding 150 words.
- Citations: Preferably as hyperlinks within the text; if not feasible, endnotes using Harvard’s Bluebook Citation (20th Edition) format. Speaking footnotes are not allowed.
- Authorship: Up to two authors per submission.
- Formatting: Garamond font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing; titles in Garamond size 14, uppercase and bold; single spacing between paragraphs.
- Retraction: Authors may retract submissions within 5 days of submission.
- Author Details: Must send a short bio and LinkedIn profile with submission email; manuscript must be anonymized.
Plagiarism Policy
- Originality is crucial; plagiarism must not exceed 10%.
- AI detection levels are decided case-by-case by editors.
- Blogs must not be submitted elsewhere; cross-publication without informing editors leads to author blacklisting.
Eligibility
Open to students, researchers, and policy enthusiasts interested in legal frameworks and public governance.
Application Fee
No submission fee.

Submissions accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Submission Procedure
- All submissions must be made exclusively on our mail: ksociety@hnlu.ac.in
- Our comprehensive double-blind review evaluates each submission on merit, relevance, and quality. We strive to complete reviews within three weeks of receipt.
- All manuscripts must be submitted as Word documents (‘.doc’ or ‘.docx’) on our provided mail. To maintain anonymity, please submit an anonymous script, with author information only being on the mail and not the manuscript.
- The society shall conduct two rounds of review during the first stage.
- The draft, along with any comments or suggested changes, will then be shared with the author (if required).
- A second round of review will be conducted after the first stage, followed by the final publication.
- Withdrawal of submission before the end of the stipulated 7-day review period or post communication of acceptance is not permitted. We reserve the right to cease collaboration with respective contributors, if they do so.
- The Editorial Team evaluates only complete manuscripts; we do not provide preliminary assessments based on abstracts or proposals.
- Confirmation of receipt is typically sent within 48 hours. If you don’t receive acknowledgement, please follow-up at our mail.
