About the Opportunity
SBI is inviting applications for the posts of Assistant Manager (Law) and Deputy Manager (Law) on a regular basis. Selected candidates will be posted anywhere in India, as per the requirements of the Bank.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Graduate with a degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognised university in India.
- Candidates with a 5-year integrated law course from a recognised university may be given preference.
Experience
Assistant Manager (Law):
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience as:
- a practising Advocate enrolled with the Bar Council; or
- a Law Officer in the Legal Department of a Scheduled Commercial Bank; or
- a combination of the above.
Deputy Manager (Law):
- Minimum 4 years’ post-qualification experience as:
- a practising Advocate enrolled with the Bar Council; or
- a Law Officer in the Legal Department of a Scheduled Commercial Bank; or
- a combination of the above.
Roles and Responsibilities
Selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Rendering legal opinions on various matters.
- Drafting, vetting, and negotiating agreements, contracts, deeds, and other legal documents.
- Advising operational teams on legal risks and supporting litigation before judicial and quasi-judicial forums.
- Coordinating with advocates, statutory and regulatory authorities.
- Conducting title investigation of properties (where applicable).
- Undertaking any other legal assignments as entrusted by the Bank.
Salary
- Assistant Manager (Law): JMGS-I Pay Scale – ₹48,480–85,920
- Deputy Manager (Law): MMGS-II Pay Scale – ₹64,820–93,960
In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to DA, HRA, CCA, NPS, medical benefits, LFC, and other admissible allowances as per SBI rules.
Selection Process
The selection process comprises:
- Online Written Examination
- Interview
The final merit list will be prepared by assigning 70% weightage to the online written test and 30% weightage to the interview.
