Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, established in 2014, is a premier National Law University committed to excellence in legal education and research.

About the Journal
The MNLU Law Journal is a premier open-access, annual online/offline publication dedicated to democratizing legal scholarship. Our mission is to provide an inclusive global platform where academicians, practitioners, and students can contribute rigorous research to foster a collective repository of legal expertise.
The Journal adopts a broad, non-restrictive approach to legal studies, focusing on Socio-Legal themes that address the complexities of the modern world. The journal will promote interdisciplinary research, encouraging a critical dialogue between law and other academic disciplines to better understand the role of legal systems in the contemporary era.
Eligibility & Categories
MNLU Law Journal invite original, unpublished manuscripts from Academicians, Research Scholars, Legal Professionals, and Law Students. The Journal accepts submissions in the following formats:
- Articles: In-depth analytical papers on theoretical or practical legal issues.
- Case Comments: Critical evaluations of recent judicial pronouncements.
- Legislative Comments: Analytical reviews of new statutes, amendments, or proposed bills.
- Book Reviews: Scholarly assessments of recent literature in the field of law and social sciences
Submission Guidelines
- The submission of papers is open for Teachers/ Academicians/ Professionals/ Judges/ Jurists and Researchers. Only one co-author shall be allowed. Student can be the co-author.
- The author(s) should strictly follow the Bluebook 20 edition for a uniform system of citation.
- Headings should be according to the following standard:
Headings: All Capitals & Bold Letters
Sub-Headings: First letter Capital & Bold - Submissions should be in Times New Roman, 12 font size with 1.5 line spacing, justified text and 1-inch margins on all sides of an A4 sheet besides the centre aligned page number at the bottom of each page.
- Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, 10 font size with 1.0 line spacing. Graphics, Charts, Tables, and Diagrams should be numbered consecutively and included in the body of the work.
- In case of references from websites, complete URL address, along with the last date of accessing the website should be mentioned.
- Submissions must be mailed to email id by the University only with the subject “Submission for Volume—, Type of Submission (Article/ Case Comment/ Book Review/ Law and Policy analysis)” along with a Covering letter addressed to Chief Editor, MNLU Mumbai Law Journal.
- The covering letter should include the author’s contact details, designation and institutional affiliation.
- Submitted entries must not have been sent for consideration at any other place for publication.
- All submissions will be scrutinized by the Review Committee and the shortlisted contributors shall be duly informed.
- All submissions shall meet the UGC anti-plagiarism requirement- only 10% content similarity.
- Mere submission of a manuscript shall not confer any claim for publication.
- The Editorial Board reserves all rights to take decision to publish the contribution or not.
- The Board’s decision as regards the interpretation of guidelines or any other matter related to the publication shall be final.
- The Editorial Board strives to review the manuscripts expeditiously and will convey the preliminary decision on your manuscript within 4 weeks of the date of submission
How to Submit?
- The manuscripts shall be submitted through this Google Form only (attached at the end of the post). Submissions made through any other mode will not be entertained.
- Each author is allowed to submit a maximum of 1 manuscript, in .doc or .docx format.
- The author(s) shall submit the manuscript along with a duly signed Certificate of Originality and Copyright (in this format).
- Upon submission, the author(s) will receive a receipt of acknowledgement of submission along with a code for their manuscript. Kindly quote the same in any future communication.
Deadline
The author(s) shall submit the manuscript by May 30, 2026.
