From Stadiums to Statutes: NLU Jodhpur’s IP & Sports Workshop You Shouldn’t Miss

In today’s world, sports isn’t just about the game—it’s about branding, broadcasting, and billion-dollar rights. And right at this intersection comes an interesting opportunity.

The Centre for Intellectual Property Studies (CIPS) at National Law University, Jodhpur is organising a One-Day National Workshop on “Intellectual Property and Sports”, marking the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day.

Why this workshop stands out

This isn’t your typical lecture-heavy session. The workshop dives into how intellectual property shapes the modern sports industry—from protecting athlete image rights to regulating broadcasting and merchandising.

With sports becoming increasingly commercialised, IP law now plays a central role in technology innovation, media rights, and brand value creation in the industry.

What you’ll learn

The workshop is structured around practical, real-world themes:

  • Copyright in sports broadcasting & digital media
  • Trademark protection and ambush marketing
  • Athlete branding and personality rights
  • Innovation and IP in sports technology

Sessions will be taken by leading practitioners and experts, making it a solid mix of academic insight and industry exposure.

Who can attend?

Open to:

  • Law students
  • Academicians
  • Researchers
  • Professionals

Mode & Fees

  • Mode: Online (Virtual Workshop)
  • Fee: ₹500 per participant

Important Dates
