Call for Papers: International Seminar on Data Protection in the AI Era

Law Mantra Trust, in academic collaboration with the Centre for Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights (CIIPR), RGNUL, Punjab, is organising a two-day E-International Seminar on “Data Protection in the AI Era: Bridging Gaps Between Law, Policy, and Technology” to be held on 19–20 December 2025.
Why this seminar matters
As AI systems increasingly depend on massive datasets, traditional privacy frameworks are being pushed to their limits. Governments, courts, policymakers, and technologists are now confronted with questions of ethical use, accountability, data security, cross-border transfer protocols, and the impact of algorithmic decision-making on fundamental rights.
This seminar aims to bring together legal scholars, technical experts, researchers, and students to engage in interdisciplinary dialogue and propose actionable insights.
Key Themes
- Legal and policy developments on AI and data protection in India and across the world
- Challenges in implementing India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
- Algorithmic transparency, bias, ethics, and AI accountability
- Cross-border data transfers, cybersecurity, and jurisdictional issues
- Intellectual property challenges arising from AI-generated works
- Privacy-preserving technologies and human-centric AI design
- Balancing innovation with constitutional rights and regulatory safeguards
