About the FDP: In recent years, Intellectual property rights (IPR) management has become increasingly important, both for industry and for research institutes/ universities. The main categories of Intellectual property rights include: Patents, copyright, trademarks, GI, design rights etc. IPR provides incentive for creativity and the disclosure of information and plays a significant role in encouraging innovations in the form of product/process development leading to technical advancement. In view of the opportunities IPR provides in the form of protection and innovation management, it has become an increasingly important facet to the success and longevity of any organization/Institute and also for economic growth of the country.

The present programme is intended for faculty of educational institutes to provide quality training and research, develop teaching capacity and also to help in the process of successful creation and utilization of IPR. This programme in turn helps the faculty to disseminate the information to educate and empower the youth who are an inevitable asset of our nation. Furthermore, University Grants Commission (UGC), mandated to coordinate and determine the standards of higher education, recently laid down UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2018 which provides for guidelines related to levels of plagiarism and academic integrity. Therefore knowledge about the above aspects becomes essential for the teaching fraternity.
