2 batches of B.A.LL.B students at Hidayatullah National Law University are to receive free laptops from the State Government of Chhattisgarh this year between 3 July 2018 to 13th July 2018 in the University Campus itself. A self attested University ID Card is suffice for the purpose of obtaining the laptops.
This initiative of the State Government of Chhattisgarh to provide free laptops in the State Universities and Colleges is a part of a welfare scheme “Chhattisgarh Yuva Suchna Kranti Yojana“.
This initiative was announced in the 2017 budget of the state of Chhattisgarh for the welfare of women and students in the state. Smartphones (along with a SIM Card) are also distributed to Below Poverty Line Students in the state.
The cost of this initiative is estimated to be Rs. 900 Crore and 45 Lakh Smartphones are to be distributed throughout the state. The State Government’s initiative aims to strengthen the Government Of India’s flagship Digital India Initiative.
