It is our honor and pleasure to invite you to attend and participate in the National Seminar on Save Daughter : A Psycho- Social Responsibility organized by the Department of Lifelong Learning, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore on 3rd & 4th September 2014.

The University

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya( A Grade by NAAC) Indore was established in 1964 by an Act of legislature of Madhya Pradesh. The University has thirty-two teaching Departments imparting education at graduate and post graduate level in frontline areas of Computers, Information technology, Engineering, Biotechnology, Life sciences, Social sciences, Education, Management etc. The administrative block of the University is situated at Nalanda Campus in the heart of the city at R.N.T. Marg. All academic departments are situated at Takshshila Campus on Khandwa Road. The city being compact, public transport is available at
all times from the main parts of the city for the academic campus.

The Department

Department of Lifelong Learning, (formally, Department of Adult andContinuing Education and Extension Work) was established in 24 May 1984, has been playing avital role in taking Vishwavidyalaya to masses. The Department has always taken special efforts to make its activities socially relevant, economically viable with a target-oriented approach. The department of Lifelong Learning works on UGC guidelines. Department offers various kinds of need based (short duration) Continuing Education Courses which help creating employment
opportunities for unemployed youth , home-makers and retired senior citizens. In addition to this department conducts two year self -finance programme Diploma in Interior Designing and regular course PG diploma in Population Education.

About the Seminar

A daughter is the key to happiness of every home.
Department of Lifelong Learning in Indian Universities is engaged in translating the idea of Lifelong Learning in practice since their inceptions. XI plan Guidelines of the University Grants Commission designed for Department of Life Learning in India emphasizes the need of “expanding the scope of Adult Education and Lifelong Learning, improving its qualities and
developing it as a discipline of study and field Practice.” The approach will continue in XIIth Plan period also. Department of Life Learning plays a major role in the development of the human resources for providing professionally competent manpower in the area of Lifelong Learning.
Department of Lifelong Learning, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Indore, M.P. is organizing two days National Seminar on “Save Daughter : A Psycho- Social Responsibility” on 3rd& 4th September 2014.

Research papers are invited on any of the theme listed above. Each paper at
least three pages A4 size along with two copies of the abstract (within 250 words, without any  sketches, tables etc.), in Times New Roman and 12 font size should be sent to the convener on or before 10th August 2014. Submission of abstract and full-length research paper in soft and hard
copy are essential for acceptance. The selection committee will make the selection of papers and  accepted papers will be taken up for poster/oral presentation during the sessions. Abstracts and papers should be neatly typed in on A4 size paper as per model format given below-

  2.  Author’s name and affiliation Department/ Institute
  3. Key words (max. five)
  4. Introduction
  5. Objectives
  6. Method
  7. Results
  8. Conclusions

The last date of receiving abstract and full paper (hard & soft copy) with registration fee by Demand Draft is 10th, August 2014.
