Journal of Law Teachers of India (JOLT-I) ISSN: 2231-1580
A Double Blind Peer Reviewed Journal of the Law Centre-I, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi
The Journal of Law Teachers of India is owned and published by Law Centre-1, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. The Journal is motivated by the belief that the work of Law Departments, Faculties and Schools is not confined to the teaching of existing statutory and non-statutory laws and imparting students’ skills relating to litigation and other professional careers. Moreover, the responsibility of law teaching institutions goes beyond familiarising its students with the technicalities of common law judicial processes and court judgments. There is always a gap between the existing legal structure/laws and social realities and facts. New social realities and facts keep emerging. It demands a response from the law and legal system. A graver responsibility of Law Departments, therefore, is to contribute in meeting challenges which poses themselves afresh to the Law.
The JOLT-I believes that academic writings evolving ideas, through debate, deliberation and conceptualising them is one method by which the academics can contribute towards the development of the law and legal system. The objective of JOLT-I is to provide a debating forum to the legal academics, thereby generating a cross-current of vibrant ideas and enabling them to contribute to the body of legal knowledge.
In its previous issues, the Journal has covered areas of important and urgent concerns. The issues explore and critically examine various aspects of justice in different fields of law. Since its existence, it has attracted scholars from various institutions from India and abroad.
