The Journal of International Law and Politics (JILP) invites the submission of manuscripts on all international law subjects by all authors (including students). JILP welcomes pieces on public and private international law, international commercial law as well as comparative or foreign law. It also welcomes articles on the intersection between law and politics, including interdisciplinary work. JILP emphasizes that articles must have an international or comparative law focus to receive serious consideration.
The NYU Journal of International Law and Politics (JILP) is currently accepting submissions for its Summer 2014 Peer Review Issue. This year’s peer review issue is dedicated to showcasing the work of emerging scholars who are early in their professional careers and making significant contributions to international legal scholarship. Articles submitted for the peer review issue are reviewed by NYU-affiliated faculty members with expertise spanning a wide variety of disciplines within international law.
JILP will be accepting submissions until August 31, 2013 and making decisions for publication on a rolling basis. Please note that our evaluation process takes account of several criteria including the need for a balance of topics and subjects of topical concern. Therefore, a rejection does not necessarily reflect upon the quality of a piece.
Submissions must be unpublished work between 12,000 and 30,000 words. Authors must send their submission in .doc, .docx, or .rtf format with all identifying information removed. In addition, submissions must be accompanied by a CV and a cover letter describing the work and the author’s background. We request that authors conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (19th ed.) style of citations.
Submissions should be accompanied by the author’s assurance that the article has not been published or accepted elsewhere but exception will be made for prior publication in draft form in SSRN. Articles to be published in a different forum within one year of submission to the JILP will not be considered.
Submissions must be in electronic form and should be transmitted as attachments to emailmessages addressed to [email protected]nyujilp.org. Submissions must include the author’s name and “JILP Peer Review Submission” in the subject line of the email. Please also note in your cover letter that you are submitting for consideration in the peer review issue.
We will begin accepting submissions for publication in Volume 47 of JILP on February 1, 2014.
